Earthing
So you fell in love
sweet child
you fell in love
you fell in love
and it didn't feel foolish like falling used to feel
that sudden sideways landing
red-faced and skinned knees
get up quickly and cover up so no-one sees you fell
you fell
you fell
you fell in love
sweet child
you fell firmly into that slow-motion crescendo that starts off pianissimo
familiar and close and easy
you're falling freely
and you don't even know you're falling
til you wake up naked and find your wings on the ground
bare soles surrendered to the heavenly soil
of the here-and-now
and forever goodness
of who you truly are
and the earth feels so warm fresh salty-sweet under your feet
and it feels so alive when your hands meet
so you don't want to get up
and you don't want to leave
and you don't care if everyone sees
because after all these years of floating away
you are finally
touching down.
